July 16, 2015 – has it really been that long?

Is there a statute of limitations on updating a blog?  Does a four-month lag in updates require some sort of penalty?  I’ve asked this before, but where does the time go?

In the interest of NOT writing a novel and keeping this readable, I’ll try to stick to the highlights of our last four months…

March – we got together with The Gamers; we caught up on a lot of our favorite TV shows (what did we do before there was DVR?); Mema & PawPaw came up to visit; several of us saw Mary Poppins at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater; we redecorated the guest bathroom; and we ended the month celebrating Hubby’s birthday with dinner at Noodles & Company and a movie!

April – we visited Nana & Grandpa in Frazee (Nana broke her hip several days before that); I worked A LOT; we watched more TV (Once Upon a Time, Face Off, The Middle, and The Goldbergs being some of our favorites this year); K-Cat had a sleepover just for the fun of it; and we ended this month with Hubby and I taking K-Cat and Doodle and sneaking off to Wisconsin Dells for a weekend!

May – I flew to Dallas for work; Hubby and I ventured across the Atlantic to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Europe (for nearly TWO weeks!); LooHoo finished her first semester at Hennepin Technical College; K-Cat earned her Awana Timothy Award; and we ended this month with visits with grandparents (LooHoo went to Florida with Mema & PawPaw for her birthday; the rest of us headed north to visit Nana & Grandpa again as Nana was released from rehab and got to move back home)!

June – I flew to Dallas again for work; Doodle and K-Cat finished another year of school; The Gamers came over for BBQ and games (of course); Jay Pea and I volunteered at ARC Value Village for work; we took what has affectionately become know was Annual Sister Pics; Jay Pea and I ventured out to western Minnesota for Winstock (a country music festival) and two nights of concerts (got to see Sam Hunt, Gary Allen, and Alabama); Hubby, Doodle, and K-Cat did Vacation Bible School at Grace; K-Cat and I started going to a Mom/Daughter Discipleship Group (we only meet once a month, but it’s a lot of fun); LooHoo and K-Cat spent a week at JAM Camp at Lake Shetek; Doodle went on her a church trip to Cincinnati and Chicago (visited the Creation Museum and the Field Museum – talk about a contrast in worldviews); and we ended this month celebrating LooHoo’s birthday very late with dinner at Red Robin!

After The Color Run!

July – we started this month celebrating our nation’s birthday with The Gamers at their cabin up north; we made it down to Valleyfair a couple of evenings; we celebrated Jay Pea’s birthday with dinner at Pizza Ranch; and we braved a color run at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds last weekend!

Amongst all of this, I’ve been interviewing internally at my company for a new position which I was offered at the end of last month – I transition next week and am looking forward to the change.  It will put me back in the office full-time, and I’ll have to learn to ride the bus to avoid having to drive downtown every day, but I really excited to be getting back to a part of our business that I love – client service!

I’ll try to update more often for the rest of the year…  wish me luck!
