A Week of Celebrations

Okay, so I wasn’t able to post to let everyone know that I did get to bed at a reasonable time last Tuesday – 11:30 p.m. actually.  That is considered VERY reasonable at our house.

The rest of the week was spent celebrating – Wednesday night, we went to a family praise event at a conference at our church (celebrating God’s love for us); Thursday night, Hubby and I treated ourselves to a night at Embassy Suites (celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary); Friday night, Jay Pea, Loo Hoo, Hubby and I ran The Rave Run (celebrating our first official run when we finished); Saturday morning, K-Cat and I went on the Awana T&T Mystery Trip to Triple Play Sports (celebrating K-Cat finishing an Awana book this past year)!  What a great week we’ve had!

Today, we celebrated Mother’s Day with church this morning followed by lunch at IKEA – who doesn’t love Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes!?  Hubby and I then surprised the girls with a week-long vacation with Dad.  No, Jay Pea didn’t get to go along; she has finals this week.  She did get to be part of the surprise which was so much fun to spring on them!  When we left IKEA, we told the girls we were headed for Minnehaha Park.  On the way, we turned into the airport and dropped them off with Hubby to catch a late afternoon flight.  I had secretly packed their bags and had them hidden in the back of the van!  No one suspected anything!  They should be landing any time now so I’m waiting to hear from them one last time tonight before heading off to bed.

Plus One came home from work this afternoon, and we hung out watching Anne of Green Gables and catching up.  It was great to see her again as we have both been so busy that I haven’t had a moment to connect with her in several weeks!

I am looking forward to a quiet week with plenty of time to clean, read, watch movies, and be lazy!  But… I do miss them all already!
