A Winter Storm?

No, that is not a picture of coffee for dinner tonight.  That is actually a cup of oatmeal (Blueberry Muffin Better Oats oatmeal to be exact)!  And, yes, dinner was at work…  but, before I get to that, let’s back up just a little…  Tuesday slipped by without blogging, but, true to my word, I am writing today in order to make sure that I don’t get too far behind again (wish me luck!).

Tuesday night was date night with Hubby; the weather started getting bad as night came on so we decided to stay close to home with 2 for $20 at Applebee’s.  I had the Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp and Hubby had the Three Cheese Chicken Penne.  We split Boneless Wings for an appetizer.  After eating, we headed home as the streets were very icy!

We spent a couple of hours playing City of Heroes with the girls online – it was so much fun to fight “bad guys” with them.  We’re like a regular family of superheroes complete with healing powers, super strength, exploding arrows, and giant muscles!

We woke up this morning not to the 12-inches of snow that was predicted (that went north of us, Jay Pea got it!) but instead to a power outage and ice covered trees and electrical wires outside.  It was actually a very pretty site, but not good for the trees or the power lines which both suffered breakages!

After Hubby blew the couple of inches of heavy, wet snow off the driveway, I headed for work.  I hear the power came back soon after that – it was fun having a fire in the fireplace this morning for heat (very “olden times” of us!).  I do have to admit though, I think we’re all a little disappointed that we didn’t get our really big snowfall – is it possible that we’re suffering some type of winter-weather withdraw this year??

I’m headed out in a few minutes to our Wednesday night activities – hopefully the ice is gone from the streets!
