I wore make-up today for the first time since last Saturday! We didn’t leave the timeshare until about Noon and I only slept in until about 9:30 so there was plenty of time to clean the house, get dressed, do some laundry, load the dishwasher, AND put on make-up before we left. We went back to Chick-fil-A for lunch – chicken sandwiches and nuggets – before heading to EPCOT for our second visit there.
It was much colder today – I think the high was around 50 degrees which I know is warmer than Minnesota, but it’s still pretty darn cold! We were in long pants and sweatshirts all day and the Disney cast members were all in heavy coats! Surprisingly, there were still a lot of tourists at EPCOT with us.
We focused on doing the things we never do at EPCOT today (or as one cast member referred to them, the non-thrill rides) – Innovations (both East and West), Ellen’s Energy ride, The Land, the Circle of Life movie, Journey Into Imagination, and Hubby’s favorite – Captain EO! I have to say, considering it was created in 1986, it was very good – like a long music video complete with Michael Jackson singing and dancing with several Star Wars-like creatures.
When the sun started to head down, we knew it would quickly get even colder so we decided it was time to head out for dinner. We went to Cracker Barrel – another big family favorite! Hubby had chicken fried chicken (of course!); I had the sampler with dumplings, ham, and meatloaf. Jay Pea had chicken dumplings, and LooHoo had fried shrimp. K-Cat had a cheeseburger, and Doodle had mac & cheese. We also had several sides of fried apples and hashbrown casserole and even some carrots, green beans, and cottage cheese!
After dinner, the two older girls and I dropped Hubby and the younger girls off at the timeshare and headed back to Disney – this time for shopping! Of course, we learned that much of the Lake Buena Vista area also heads to Downtown Disney on Saturday evening, probably for dinner and movies! There was a lot of traffic and not very many parking places, but we eventually found one and made our way into the crowd.
The fun thing about shopping in Downtown Disney is… yep, you guessed it… you can trade pins with the people who work there! So, while Jay Pea and LooHoo bought souvenirs, I finished trading pins for the day – I did trade some at EPCOT this morning, but there were a lot more choices at Downtown Disney! Tonight, I have: a Mickey and a Minnie T-shirt, a Mickey coffee cup, Captain Hook’s hook, Flounder, Minnie in a tutu, Aries Pluto, a Chip/Dale silhouette, O’Malley the Alley Cat, Lilo, the owl from Fox and Hound, and Piglet’s silhouette (yes, the one I was missing from having the full set a few days ago!). No, I’m not sorry that I didn’t keep the others; it’s nice to know that the whole set has passed through my hands this week!
After a couple hours of shopping, it was time to head back to the timeshare. We stopped at Target for a few essentials – milk and bologna – and a couple of treats – coconut cake and Oreos! Hubby was watching the Bronco game when we got home, K-Cat was swimming in the huge Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom, and Doodle was playing Barbies – a perfect night in!
I’m not sure yet what our plans are for tomorrow but I’m pretty sure we’re starting late again – everyone seems to get along much better when we do that. So, who knows, maybe I’ll have make-up on in tomorrow’s pictures too!
