Like many people, I love when Daylight Savings Time ends and we set our clocks back an hour – not because I get an extra hour of sleep, but because I get to get up super early the morning after. I’m one of those people who loves to be up early in the morning and get a lot of things done before the rest of the house is up and moving.
Unfortunately, it looks like K-Cat is coming down with whatever Hubby had a couple weeks ago and LooHoo definitely caught it yesterday – between being up nearly all night the night before and being sick, she slept most of the day yesterday.
Speaking of yesterday – Doodle and K-Cat participated in their first Tae Kwon Do tournament! It meant an early morning as we had to leave the house by 8:15 to get up to Osseo for the tournament. They competed in forms; Doodle got a bronze award and K-Cat got gold. That meant that K-Cat had to then compete for Grand Champion with all age levels. No, she didn’t win that – she was up against several much older kids and a couple of adults! It was a long morning, but it was fun to see them compete and to get to know some of the other parents better.
When we got home, it was time to go “shopping” for fall clothes! “Shopping” for new seasons at our house means we drag all of the Rubbermaid boxes out of the closet and sort through them for hand me-downs that fit the girls. They then get to try on whatever they like and swap out clothes that are in their drawers that no longer fit for “new” clothes. It’s always a lot of fun and the girls love having something different to wear!
Dinner was leftover pizza (thanks again to the girls who sleptover the night before!) and salad. We caught up on some recorded television and then the younger girls went off to play Barbies while Hubby watched college football.
We did get back to a normal bedtime routine yesterday – which meant more Anne of Green Gables with K-Cat and Hobbit with LooHoo… Doodle and I started reading Meet Kirsten from American Girl – I’ve never actually read any of those books (surprising since we have so many of them!). It was nice to have some routine back in our lives!
